Water temp is 89 degrees. The largemouth bass are stuck to the shaded docks trying to escape the brutal heat of dog days. You can still catch them early mornings on spinner baits and shakey head pumpkin seed trick worms. Around 10 am it seems as if the fish shut down. The same thing is happening with the Stripers. Oconee fishing you can find surface activity from the dam all the way to the Bull Hole, but when the fish go down, the bite shuts down too. The only thing that is being consistent through out the day are the crappie. With this new moon just around the corner the bite will get better each day. You find them on the hundreds of brush piles that are scattered all over Lake Oconee.
